Shoppers confused over viral Heinz ketchup flavor saying it looks like 'hand sanitizer' but it's not

CUSTOMERS have been left confused after a viral TikTok showed a clear version of Heinz ketchup.

The clear condiment appeared to be offered in a UK grocery store.

TikTok user @UKSnackAttack shared the prank video of a fictitious product: Heinz Tomato Ketchup Clear.

“You won’t believe what I found in the shops today,” the TikToker said. “All of that tomato flavor and none of that ugly red color.”

The video shows a thick, clear substance squirting out of the bottle.

“Would you try?” they asked — revealing in the caption that the product was not real.

“I eat ketchup for the color bro,” one user added.

One person questioned how the red was removed, asking: “but if it's from tomato and it's not red anymore, did they use any chemicals to remove that out?”

Most users, however, seemed to catch on.

“That’s glue mate,” one commenter said.

Another replied with a skull emoji.

“Nah that's adhesive,” they said.

While the poster did not reveal what was in the Heinz bottle, one thing is certain: It was not ketchup.

Heinz has not yet responded to a request for comment by The U.S. Sun.
